  •  Real Estate Closings (Buyers and Sellers)
         Buying or selling a home is one of the most important financial/legal transactions you will make in your lifetime. It is important that you have an experienced attorney represent you to protect your interests. 
           In a sale, we prepare all the documents required to transfer title to your property. Prior to closing, we will review the Purchase and Sale contract and notify the buyer's attorney and Realtors as required be the contract. Once the contract is approved, we will obtain the abstract of title and instrument survey so that we can examine title to anticipate all issues that need to be addressed. We will prepare all the documents required for transfer of the property. We will attend closing and  pay all closing and mortgage holders from the proceeds of the sale. 
           In a purchase situation, we will review the contract as required. We will examine all title documents received from the seller's attorney, such as the abstract of title, instrument survey, proposed deed and property tax bills to assure you are receiving clear title. Prior to closing, we will obtain all the tax adjustments and closing cost information and advise you as to the funds required to bring to closing. We will accompany you to the closing to review with you all documents before you sign them. We represent your interests and not that of the bank! 
           Whether a sale or a purchase, you will receive a complete closing statement setting out all the financial information associated with the transaction.

  • Estate Planning
  •      Your specific financial circumstances as well as your goals for the distribution of your estate are reviewed, so that an estate plan fitting your particular needs can be presented. This includes advice as to wills, trusts, powers of attorney and health care proxies.
  • Probate
         Remember, a will is not effective until the death of the testator and the will is presented in Surrogate Court and is probated. That is accomplished by preparing a probate petition for the executor and presenting it to the court with the will and proof that the required relatives are on notice. Upon admitting the will to probate the terms of the will can be enforced and the executor is given the power to execute the terms of the will. This office asists the executor along the way through the final distribution of the assests of the estate as required by the will.
  • Powers of Attorney
         This is a form wherein someone authorizes one or more persons to act on their behalf in business transactions. It is important to have the advice of an experienced attorney to advise you of various issues associated with the execution of this legal document.
  • Health Care Proxies
         This is a form wherein you appoint an individual to make medical decisions on your behalf in a situation when you are not physically able to do so on your own. We will assist you in the preparation of that form and will provide copies of same to your doctors.

         This office is experienced in every aspect of divorce law, including the preparation of Separation/Property Settlement Agreements in the resolution of these cases.          Over 30 years I have represented both mothers and fathers. I have also been appointed by courts as the attorney for the children of the parties to custody and visitation matters.          I have represented people charged with violations of the law in all courts in the area. My experience involves jury and bench trials in felony, misdemeanor and violations cases. My experience includes the handling of appeals as well as trials. We will evaluate your case from all aspects and will represent at all court appearances. During that representation, we will make the appropriate written motions to obtain discovery and evidentiary pre-trial hearings. We represent people in all courts in and outside of Monroe County, except for Town and Village Courts within Monroe County.

         This office is experienced in the area of personal injury cases, such as traffic accidents and slip and fall cases. We are a small firm that can give your case the personal attention it requires.
  •  Vehicle & Traffic Violations
         Some Vehicle and Traffic Matters are criminal charges, such as Driving While Intoxicated matters, which can have the same consequences as any other criminal charge. However, even a traffic infraction conviction can result in the imposition of points and a fine and the loss of your driving license. This office does not represent people in Town and Village Courts in the County of Monroe. However, we do represent people in those courts outside of Monroe County.
